VENETIAN TAPESTRY
J41
$ 9,500.00 USD
This richly storied tapestry was made around 1705 by Venetian craftsman for a Jewish temple in Prague called the Rioleau D'Arche. The piece was used to hide the cabinet that housed religious laws, and features Christian iconography as a clever means of dissuasion. The deep crimson velvet is bordered with gold trim and accented with robust yet delicate gold embroidery.
